Aren't I fast? 300 pages for an all nighter...and it was less than an hour! Basically, this book lets the readers to make decisions for the protagonist. I don't know how this blog is going to work out since the decision making for the reader makes it hard for the story to seem real especially when the story is in third person. I'll give you a quick summary of my short journey:
Haley Miller arrives at school. She picks a clique. The popular crowd at the Court Yard or the alternative at the Parking Lot. I picked the Parking Lot because I find alternative people much more interesting.
Haley hangs out with the alternative people. One of them, Sasha, is being out of character by having an odd lot of cash in her backpack. Her other friend, Irene, invites her to eat at her buffet. Apparently, Sasha is a soccer player so that gave the option to Haley to go to the soccer game and play with Sasha, and find out why she's being out of character. Or, she can go to the buffet and eat. Ummm, since I ain't a soccer gal, I went to eat.
That brings me to Irene's buffet. Irene and Haley chat about Irene winning an art contest and receiving free tickets to San Fransisco. One of them is offered to Haley but Haley isn't sure would her parents even let her. Before, when Haley was with her family driving to the buffet, her mom offered to go shopping. These were the two choices: plan the trip or go shopping. As far as I know, Haley was 15 and I doubted her parents would even bother to let her go alone with friends on a trip like that. So I didn't wanna bother with planning the trip since I guess the characters wouldn't even get to San Fran! I decided shopping.
During the shopping spree, Haley finds 4 pieces. A purple beaded top that reminded her of a popular chick. A preppy tweed skirt that reminded her of a girl that was in her class. A pair of brown suade moccasin boots that reminded her of Sasha. And last, a black sweater with multiple functions that reminded her of Irene. I as the reader had to pick which one she should buy. It was hard for me to decided between the purple top and tweed skirt. But then I ended up with the purple top because tweed is hard to match. I know I am weird!
Anyhow, that led me to being hanging out with the popular crowd, at a party called SIGMA? No idea. Haley and those people started to play strip poker. The players can put one piece of clothing into the pot or take a shot. I had to between those two for Haley or have her go home. I thought about each consequce. Haley was wearing skimpy clothing already so if she loses many rounds, she'll be naked by the end! The body is a temple!!! Drinking could get her drunk and she'll have the possibility of getting caught by her parents after the party (the smell of alcohol is very strong). Leaving the party was a nono for me, because I wanna know how this strip party goes. I picked taking the shot. Haley ended up drunk, getting caught and having consequences. That was the end of the journey for me...
But I read the other options to find out what else was in the book. I left her alone with a creepy guy named Luke and things got steamy....but her dad walked in. Ha.
I thought this story had too many missing parts. What did you think? How was your journey? Why did you pick those decisions?

PS. I have no idea what to read next. I asked my sibling and she said something girly and funny. Or should I read something serious?

My Sister's Keeper by Joudi Picoult
Hey guys, I am finally finished with that 400 pages of sadness!
First off, I didn't like the mother Sara. She was bothering me by not being excited while she was pregnant with Anna. Third trimester and not thinking about names? What a bitch! or am I being too dramatic? I don't have kids yet, and I know what I am going to name them. Also, she made a simile about how Kate is in a burning house and she sends Anna in to save Kate since only Anna knows the way. I thought that was a bad comparison. I wouldn't send my other kid in. I would ask for the way and go in myself.
About Anna, I sympathize that she felt lost about her identity whether or not she should be a donor for Kate. If my siblings ever needed an organ, yes, I will donate. But there are different circumstances, for Anna, it was because she was made to do that. But I am not. So I thought about it. I would offer my organ and if my sibling say no and feel bad, I would do it still. If they don't care and not be thankful about it, I wouldn't do it. Sorry, but that's just etiquette hahaha.
In addition, I really liked the relationship between Campbell and Julia (a nice touch to the book). It was really cute but kind of unreal. High school one year thing and they were 15 years apart. After that, they still had feelings for each other? I guess it's the matter of closure, since they didn't have that, sparks continued. I would like to add that Julia was very unprofessional. You shouldn't express the grudge when you're working with your ex lover! How very Ally McBeal of her! The love scenes were a breath of fresh air from the depressing story though, thumbs up for that.
The book was an A for me. Last rambling thoughts: Some parts were boring --cough Jesse & Brian cough-- It took 3 chapters for things to get interesting. I thought the most thoughtful parts were when Sara was favouring Kate and Anna feeling alone. Right when Brian found Anna in the bent car, I started crying. A good climax at the ending. It's sad how Kate feelings guilty in the end, which made her wanting people to get over the death of her sister. It was heart touching when Brian hugged Jesse, he really needed that.
These are the basic opinions I have on this story. Thank you for reading: to the zero public.

PS. The next book is "What if... All the Boys Wanted You" by Liz Ruckdeschel and Sara James

Bonjour!
You have landed on a blog that belongs to a crazy person. I pretend these books and films(that are adapted from books) are real. Then I offer my opinion on the characters: how much I hate or love them. I'll also give a little input on the story's quality. Yup, that's what I do for fun. And this blog is for fun too, meaning I have nothing to do. What am I going to read that will contribute to this weird ass journal? You can check out my To Read List on the corner.
I am certain that nobody is going to actually read this but if anyone is out there....and you have a recommendation on what to read, please leave a comment. Just to let you know, I don't like to read about history and politics. Sorry.
A post about My Sister's Keeper by Joudi Picoult coming right up!
